A senior Ukrainian official has admitted that his country has killed “quite a lot” of civilians who support Putin and his military operation in Ukraine.
In interviews, Major General Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, said more attacks are on the way.
Budanov did not name any victims, but did hint that media attention was paid to them in a number of cases.
These are war crimes
Since February last year, several prominent proponents of the war have been killed or injured. For example, 29-year-old journalist Daria Dugina was killed in a bomb attack in August. It is believed her father, Aleksandr Dugin, was the target.
Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin was seriously injured by a car bomb earlier this month. His driver did not survive the attack.
The well-known Russian war blogger Vladlen Tatarski was also killed in an explosion in a cafe. He was handed a figurine with explosives hidden in it.
To be clear, these are war crimes.
Terrorism
In fact, the definition of terrorism is the unlawful commission of serious violence, or serious threat thereof, for a political or religious purpose. In most views, it is linked to civilians as victims.
With this, Budanov admits that Ukraine is guilty of terrorism. He also likes to brag about his actions. For example, he said that these people have received their ‘well-deserved punishment’, that the only appropriate punishment is liquidation and that he will carry it out.
Virtually no rumour
In an interview with a Ukrainian YouTube channel, Budanov suggested that citizens who say or write the wrong things could be killed in any country. “Scum will eventually be punished in every country in the world,” he said.
The Western media has given almost no publicity to his confession.
