Next week, on May 24, comes the long-awaited live action remake The Little Mermaid in the halls. Disney previously shared a lot of teasers, trailers and also the title song Part of Your World. But today the entire soundtrack from the film has been released. That includes the hits Under The Sea and Kiss The Girl.
The live action remake of The Little Mermaid. Despite delays due to the corona crisis, the recordings have been there for more than a year and a half, but the post-production took a lot of time. Next week, on Wednesday 24 May, the time has finally come. Then the film appears in the cinema. To prepare the fans, Disney is already sharing the full soundtrack today.
The Little Mermaid
In the film, we will see the classic Disney story where mermaid Ariel (Haile Bailey) meets Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) after she helps him after a shipwreck. In doing so, she naturally calls out the resentment of her father King Triton (Javier Bardem).
He does not want his daughter to mix with the ‘upper world’. However, Ariel is in love and wants to see Eric again. For this she enlists the help of Ursula (Melissa McCarthy), but that will of course not be without consequences.
Soundtrack
In recent weeks, Disney has shared a lot of teasers of the songs in the new version of The Little Mermaid. For example, we already got to see actress Haile Bailey in short previews of Part of Your Worldwe already heard actor Daveed Diggs in short fragments of Under The Sea and Kiss The Girl and the official version of the title song was also released earlier.
But this week another 14 songs were added. From now on, the full soundtrack can already be heard on all music streaming services. That soundtrack is a collaboration between composer Alan Menken, who also wrote the original music, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. He is best known for his work in the movies Moana and Encanto.
