It’s time for the Dior Cruise 2024 show! Or at least, almost. The big event will take place in Mexico on May 20. Each cruise show is a chance for creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri to showcase Dior’s beautiful collection. This year, the fashion house honors Mexico’s rich cultural background, hence its beautiful location.
Admire the special collection of Dior
Cruise collections are designed for the elite; the items are designed for a summer vacation in a luxury resort or cruise where you can’t just put on jeans and flip flops. And leave the luxury items to the big French fashion houses… they do it best. Tomorrow, May 20, it’s Dior’s turn to show this collection and you can just watch live.

Here you can watch live.
You probably know Dior, but if you look tomorrow it’s still nice to refresh your memory. Who was Christian Dior anyway?
He was born on January 21, 1905, in Granville, Normandy. He moved with his parents to Paris, where he later studied Political Science. He found architecture interesting and he sketched clothes in his spare time, something he would later make his profession out of. if we all know. The designs were so good that he sold them to couture houses and later set to work himself. In 1947, Dior launched its first collection. It was a collection with narrow waists with flared skirts. Dior has been recognized as an haute couture fashion house by ‘La Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture’.
In addition to haute couture, Dior also designed jewellery. Dior died unexpectedly in 1957, while on vacation in Italy. He was only 52 years old. Way too early, so he was unable to show many of his designs. Fortunately, there was his assistant, the also famous Yves Saint Laurent, who took over the creative direction and in 1958 he launched his first collection. John Galliano and Raf Simons were also at the helm of the brand, but now Maria Grazia Chiuri is doing that. We can’t wait to see the collection!
