This year, Apple is announcing four new iPhone 15 models. What do we already know about the size of the new iPhone series? Below we update you on the iPhone 15 formats.

iPhone 15 format

The iPhone 15 isn’t out yet, but thanks to reliable rumours, we already know what to expect from the formats. As with its predecessor, the iPhone 15 series is available in two different sizes.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro have a standard size, with a screen diagonal of 6.1 inches. That is 15.40 centimeters. If you want an iPhone with a larger screen, you can opt for the iPhone 15 Plus or iPhone 15 Pro Max. They have a screen size of 6.7 inches (16.96 centimeters).

In the overview above, we have listed the iPhone 15 sizes for you. In addition to inches, you also see the screen diagonal in centimeters. From left to right you see the sizes of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Which iPhone 15 format should I choose?

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be almost identical to each other. The only difference is the size and therefore also the battery life. Choose the larger 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus if you value a large screen and, for example, play a lot of iOS games or watch movies regularly. If you prefer a more handy device, choose the 6.1-inch version.

There are probably more differences between the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Max version reportedly has an improved telephoto lens with periscope technology. This allows you to zoom in much better without loss of quality. If you want the iPhone with the best camera, you also choose the device with the largest screen. Furthermore, there are probably no differences between the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The same size as the iPhone 14

The iPhone 15 therefore has the same dimensions as last year’s iPhone 14. Yet the iPhone 15 is slightly different in the hand, because according to rumors it is slightly thicker than the predecessor. For example, the iPhone 15 Pro Max would have a thickness of 8.25 millimeters, while its predecessor was 7.85 millimeters.

No iPhone 15 mini

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 also had a 5.4-inch mini version, but just like the iPhone 14, this is unfortunately not the case with the iPhone 15. A 6.1-inch iPhone 15 is therefore the smallest size you can choose.

However, the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 is still for sale, at Coolblue and Mediamarkt, among others. The iPhone is ideal for those who want an iPhone that is easy to operate with one hand and fits easily in the pocket. It is only two years old (Apple launched it in September 2021), so the device will last for years to come.
