Princess Kate goes for a new look: ‘Queen Bee’

Although we have already seen Kate in many different looks, the Princess of Wales looked very different last Saturday on World Bee Day. For example, the princess received a very special nickname from her followers.

World Bee Day

The photo of the princess that was shared on the official Instagram account of the Walesjes last Saturday caused quite a few tongues to roll. For example, Kate had a somewhat ‘striking’ outfit. Dressed in a beekeeper suit, a protected hat veil and the well-known Wellington boots, Kate stole the show on World Bee Day. Something different from the dresses of LK Bennett, Reiss’ and Beulah London, isn’t it?

Queen Bee

“We are buzzing about #WorldBeeDay. Bees are a vital part of our ecosystem and today is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the essential role bees and other pollinators play in keeping people and the planet healthy,” the caption reads. Of course, the royal fans couldn’t hold back and reacted en masse to the photo of the princess. They think that Kate is a woman with many talents. “Is there anything the princess can’t do?” one follower wonders. “Princess Catherine, a beautiful Queen Bee,” someone else responds.

History

And that Kate is indeed a woman with multiple talents, is evident again with this photo. The princess keeps bees herself at holiday retreat Anmer Hall on the Sandringham estate – the place where this iconic photo was shot – and even makes her own honey. A few years ago, for example, she took her own jar of honey with her during her visit to the Natural History Museum in London.

However, Kate is not the only one in the family who is into beekeeping. Thus, the entire royal family has a history of beekeeping. In 2020, Queen Camilla even became the chairman of the charity Bees For Development, which aims to reduce poverty and improve biodiversity in more than fifty countries to train beekeepers.
