new Tony’s bar and more!

The news in culinary land never stops. From new products in the supermarket to culinary hotspots. Every week we put everything hip, hot & happening is in a row. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and let us catch up with you.

New Tony’s bar

It is clear that we at the editorial office are all big fans of Tony’s Chocolonely (who isn’t). That’s why we were happy to hear that the famous chocolate brand is launching a new Tony’s bar: pure creamy hazelnut crunch. A pure bar of 51% cocoa, filled with a mix of hazelnut and almond paste and crunchy pieces of hazelnut. Not only super tasty, also completely vegan! By the way, these are all bars with a green leaf in the flavor ribbon on the packaging, handy!

The bar is also full of ‘impact beans’, for which the cocoa farmers are paid a higher price. To reduce the ecological footprint, Tony’s also adds milk-free bars to their range as much as possible. Do you want to taste this new Tony’s bar? They are now available at AH, Jumbo and most other supermarkets. And of course at the Tony’s Super Store in the Beurs van Berlage and online. And nice news: we can give away 5 x 2 bars. Keep an eye on foodiesmagazine.nl/win this afternoon to be able to participate in the giveaway.

Who is the best paella chef in the world?

Earlier we went looking for real paella from Valencia. But we are not the only ones with such a mission. The 4th edition of the World Paella CUP Day will take place on September 20, 2023. During this day, chefs from all over the world compete for the title of ‘best paella maker’. And anyone who can prepare an exceptionally good paella can also participate. Paella is one of the most famous dishes of Valencian gastronomy, but it has a specific recipe. The inhabitants of the birthplace of this dish are therefore very proud of the paella culture. Finalists can immerse themselves in this city and its culture for a week. Do you want that too? Until May 29, 2023 you can register for the pre-selection via this form and by adding a photo and video, showing your personal story and why you want to participate in the competition. For more information, visit worldpaelladay.org.

In our capital, this is possible at a very special location, namely in the Royal Palace of Amsterdam.
