Football: KFC strongest in derby against Saenden

Both KFC and Fortuna W. managed to play safely this weekend. Both teams also keep an eye out for the promotion games.

Due to the defeat against KFC, Saenden has been sentenced to play the playoffs to avoid relegation.

1st class Sunday

In not the best match, Fortuna W. managed to score 3 points in the final phase (from 1-2 to 4-2). As a result, the team is not only definitively safe, it also continues to compete well for the win in the 3rd period. VV Assendelft, on the other hand, saw competitor SDZ coming closer. Lars Keppel’s team lost 0-3 against Hoofddorp, while the team from Amsterdam surprised IVV with 3-1. The lead over SDZ, which is in a direct relegation place, is only 2 points.

2nd class Sunday

In an exciting derby, KFC was 2-1 too strong for Saenden. The Koogers are definitively safe with the victory and also have a chance of reaching the promotion matches. Due to the defeat, Saenden will have to try to play safe through the playoffs, so that the stay in the 2nd class is not limited to just one year.

3rd class Sunday

Despite the fact that Hercules Zaandam played with 10 men for a long time, it managed to win 4-5 at low flyer Nieuw West Utd. Partly due to the defeats of the competitors, the team can already qualify for the promotion games next weekend.

Both Sporting Krommenie and RCZ achieved a big victory over their competitors. Sporting won 6-2 against TOG and the Racers won 4-1 against Alliance’22. Both teams can no longer immediately relegate due to the victories, but are not yet definitively safe.

4th grade Sunday

Even after this round, the differences remain extremely small in the 4th class. Westzaan and Zaandijk managed to win against DSS (1-0) and Geel Wit’20 (2-1) respectively and can therefore prepare for a very exciting final day of the competition. No less than 7 clubs are still eligible for placement for the promotion matches and having to play the playoffs for relegation.

5th grade Sunday

Knollendam lost in the last away game at scoreless Nautilus. It became no less than 4-0 for the home team in Edam. Andy Huitema’s team is waiting for one more match against the champion MOC.
