Ex-Red Devil believes in ‘trainer Legear’: “Much respect for the footballer and man”

Jonathan Legear celebrated his farewell to his football career on Thursday. Many big names were present for his gala match, including Nacer Chadli. The former Red Devil spoke with great respect about the ex-player of Anderlecht and Standard.

Jonathan Legear decided to retire from professional football at the age of 36. The winger, who still played at Visé, wanted to celebrate his departure from professional football as a player with an anniversary and many stars responded to his call.

“We’ve known each other for a long time since we met in primary school and then we went to junior schools together, even though he was a little older than me,” says Nacer Chadli. “I appreciate him a lot and I come today to honor him. I have a lot of respect for him as a person and for his career as a footballer. I love him,” said Nacer Chadli.

Legear plans to become a trainer and Chadli believes in it. “He loves football and has to go for it. He has gained a lot of experience throughout his career and I am curious what that will bring,” explains the player from Westerlo.

Chadli had another anecdote about his friend. “I remember his first goal in Anderlecht when he was only 17, he was fantastic. When I was 15, I was still playing in the youth and I saw him break through at the highest level. I was very proud because he came from away from me.”
