FCUpdate.nl brings its own timetable at the beginning of each day. With a handy overview we map out what the news of the day will be, which specials will be online, which duels are on the program and what kind of football will be on TV. Here’s what you can expect on Sunday 21 May.
Club Brugge – Antwerp (1.30 pm)
The title fight in the Jupiler Pro League is heading towards the climax. Mark van Bommel has made an excellent start to the final round of the competition and occupies first place with Antwerp. However, the difference with Union Sint-Gillis is only a point and so any misstep can be crucial. Antwerp has to visit the ailing Club Brugge, the club of Noa Lang and Bjorn Meijer. The outgoing champion already knows that it is fourth and can therefore play football freely in its own Jan Breydel Stadium. Van Bommel must have told his men that.

FC Emmen – Feyenoord (2.30 pm)
Feyenoord starts in Drenthe on his short lap of honor as champion of the Netherlands. However, the team of trainer Arne Slot will do everything they can to grab three points. The team from Rotterdam can still break their record number of points in a season. Emmen has completely different concerns and must make sure that it does not have to go to the playoffs through a stunt against the champion. Six eager clubs from the Kitchen Champion Division are waiting there. Emmen currently occupies sixteenth place, but Excelsior only has one point more.
PSV – sc Heerenveen (2.30 pm)
In Eindhoven, PSV can secure second place against sc Heerenveen and thus the preliminary round of the Champions League. The men of coach Ruud van Nistelrooij have five points more than Ajax, but will not want to postpone the decision until the last match day. Heerenveen can also use the points well with a view to the play-offs for European football. In that battle, RKC Waalwijk is a dangerous competitor. The people of Brabant have only one point less and will secretly cheer for their fellow provincial from De Lichtstad.
Ajax – FC Utrecht (2.30 pm)
Ajax must keep a cool head in the always fraught match against FC Utrecht. The team from Amsterdam can still get over PSV, although the gap with that club is already five points. In addition, Ajax would do well to hold on to third place. AZ continues to lurk and follows John Heitinga’s team by two points. In order not to let the disappointing season get even darker, Ajax will want to close the last match well in front of its own audience. And the always critical supporters in the Johan Cruijff ArenA are only satisfied with three points.
