Ingredients

  • 200 g chorizo
  • 1 big onion
  • 3 toes garlic
  • 2 el olive oil
  • 4 celery stalks
  • 225 g green beans
  • 70 g tomato paste, 1 can
  • 1 el cajun spice mix
  • 2 el flower
  • 600 ml chicken bouillon
  • 300 g White rice
  • 200 g large pink shrimp, peeled
  • 4 sprigs of flat parsley

Instructions

  • Cut the chorizo ​​into half moons or cubes. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
  • Heat the olive oil in a frying pan. Fry the chorizo ​​with the onion and garlic for 4 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the celery into small arches. Clean the green beans and cut them into pieces of 3-4 cm.
  • Fry the celery for 2 minutes. Stir in the tomato puree with the cajun spice mix and the flour. Add the broth while stirring and bring to the boil.
  • Add the green beans and simmer the gumbo covered for 15 minutes, until the vegetables are tender. Meanwhile, cook the rice according to directions.
  • Add the shrimp to the gumbo. Coarsely chop the parsley. Sprinkle the gumbo with the parsley and serve with the rice.
